Special Services

Below is information on some of the many types of special services we as a church have throughout the year. For more information on our regular Sunday and Wednesday services click here.

 

Holidays and Other Special Services

In addition to our regular Sunday Morning services and occasional Sunday Evening services, we do normally have several special services each year. We typically host the Bible Fellowship Church Regional Good Friday Service the Friday evening before Easter. The Sunday before Memorial Day it has become a tradition to invite local veterans and current military personnel in the are to join us for a patriotic service. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving offer a Thanksgiving service which often includes time for the congregation to share some of their testimonies of thanks. For Christmas there are typically a number of Sunday Night concerts and cantata in the weeks before Christmas as well as a Christmas Eve Service the evening prior to Christmas. Communion and Baptism

We are committed to following the Lord's instructions regarding His ordinances for the church. We celebrate Communion (The Lord's Supper) once a month, usually the first Sunday of the month. We believe the Word of God teaches that The Lord's Table is not the table of any particular church, and so we welcome all believers in Jesus Christ to join us. But the Bible does ward about taking unworthily, and so we do ask that non-believers simply pass the elements by without partaking, and that all believers take time for self examination, repentance of sin, and rejoicing in the free and total forgiveness offered in Christ.

We also take seriously the Lord's command that we are to not only believe for salvation, but also be baptized as a witness to the world of that salvation received through faith alone. We believe in Believers Baptism by immersion as the most faithful Biblical model. To assure people understand what Baptism is all about we do ask all seeking baptism to take a 1 session class on baptism and to meet with an elder of the church to share your testimony to God's saving grace. We offer this class a number of times throughout the year, and we are always happy to schedule more as requested. Baptisms typically take place in a normal Sunday Morning Worship Service and typically include a brief testimony by those being baptized, but the exact details are flexible. Baby Dedication and Membership

Two other special services we offer to the congregation are Baby Dedication and Membership. While we do not believe in baptism of anyone who is not ready to make a public confession of personal faith in Jesus Christ, we do believe there are special blessing, promises and responsibilities God places on parents, and we desire to acknowledge these through the dedication of babies. For more information on all we believe and how to have your child dedicated at an upcoming service please contact the pastor listed below.

We also take seriously the Lord's vision of a local body of believers that would represent His larger church in a specific place. Couple that picture of the local body with the call to leaders to shepherd the flock under their care, and the blessing and responsibilities given to each Christian as they follow their leader and we get the concept of membership in the local church. To help you better understand who we are and what membership would mean we offer an 8-week Membership Class. This class is typically held several times a year during the Sunday School hour, but can be scheduled in other formats as requested. Weddings and Funerals

We excited when God is pleased to unite a man and a woman together in the holy state of Marriage. Our church is available to members of the congregation, and at times to others to rent, for this purpose. Our Pastoral Staff also offer pre-marital counseling (which is required if they are going to conduct the ceremony). For more information on pre-marriage counseling contact any of our pastoral staff, or the specific pastor listed below. For information on using any of our facilities for weddings or other purposes, including costs, forms and scheduling, please contact the church office below.

Our church facilities (sanctuary, chapel and/or fellowship hall and kitchen) are also available to be used to funeral and memorial services as needed. Please contact the Church Office to arrange for any such use.

Concerts, Seminars and Other Events

Throughout the year the Church itself hosts a number of Concerts, Nights of Worship, Concerts of Prayer, Seminars, Vacation Bible School, and other events.
