Core Values
The pastors and elders have set a number of current objectives to help focus the church in practical areas where the mission and vision need to grow.
The Word of God is the Final Authority
The Holy Scriptures, which consist of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired, infallible Word of God and are the supreme and final authority for faith and conduct.
Prayer
Prayer is essential to the life and power of the church, therefore the importance of prayer will be regularly stressed and practiced, permeating all activities of the church.
Outreach
The Church has been commissioned by Jesus Christ to preach the gospel to all people groups. Each particular believer bears responsibility for this commission, and it is the duty of the church body to evangelize the lost, both locally and in cross-cultural settings.
Worship
Worship is the act of paying reverence, adoration and homage to God. God’s people are instructed by His Word and the example of Christ to make the experience of worship a regular part of daily life. This is accomplished by private worship, family worship and by regular public worship which centers around the regular practice of singing, praying, giving of tithes and offerings, Scripture reading and preaching of the Word.
Family Life
The family is a divinely ordained institution, the most important institution in which to nurture children in the faith. Our emphasis on families is to be taught and practiced with regularity and evidenced in our planning and programs. All believers are brothers and sisters in Christ, and Church body life transcends all age, gender, ethnic and socio-economic background barriers. While we recognize that many individuals do not fit into traditional family units, the Church body functions as an extended family.
Expository Preaching / Teaching of the Word of God
The Bible is the final and supreme authority in matters of faith and conduct, therefore we are committed to a systematic study of what God’s Word has to say, with special emphasis toward practical application.
Spiritual Maturity Through Discipleship
Complete submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ is the goal for every member. Spiritual maturity is a lifelong process that requires consistent, ongoing commitment to growth. Discipleship, both formal and informal, is of the utmost importance for all believers as they press on toward the goal of spiritual maturity.
Ministry Involvement
We are God’s workmanship, created in His image unto good works. Therefore, every member has a specific responsibility to be faithfully involved in the ministry of and to the Church body.
Bible Fellowship Church Faith and Order
We submit to the doctrine and practices of the Bible Fellowship Church’s Faith & Order, which is established on God’s Holy Word.
