Drama

God has given us a number of people truly gifted in all aspects of Drama. Over the past few years we have written and produced several full length dramas, some of which have been taken on the road to other churches. We have also produced several short vignettes to illustrate key Biblical passages and full length, word for word dramatizations of Scripture. In addition a number of people have done dramatic readings of Scripture.

 

Joining the Drama Team

The drama team is always looking for those gifted in acting, mime, reading, and other dramatic arts. Even if you do not have much experience we would love to meet you to see how you might fit into future productions. For major productions there will normally be auditions announced in he weekly church bulletin. For shorter productions and readings the director will contact people directly. So let us know who you are and what you are interested in so you can be considered as opportunities arise.

Behind the Scenes

In addition to actors we need all kinds of behinds the scenes people. We need artists and construction people to build sets, those who can sew to make costumes, stage hands and mangers, sound and lighting designers and operators, follow spot operators, and many more. So if you desire at all to help with drama in any way contact our director today!

Recent Dramas

Below are a few of the larger productions we have done in the past few years.

 

"I Sat Among Them" a dinner theatre currently touring that is designed to give people an inside look at what missionaries struggle with day in and day out. The entire script is derived from interviews with people from the mission team we sent to the unreached Sandawe peoples in Tanzania in the 90s (although all names have been changed for this presentation). We are currently accepting limited requests for this drama, as well as looking for a second team of actors and support personal to enable us to perform this in more places. Any proceeds from this show are designated for our current Africa Outreach Project.

 

"To Colossi, With Love" This drama was originally created and performed the Sunday prior to Pastor Boone starting his year and a half series in the book of Colosians. The purpose was to dramatize the background behind the book, including a reading of the book in its entirely throughout the course of the drama.

 

"Traveling Light: The Book of Mark in 40 Short Acts" The entire book of Mark, in 40 acts, retold as modern parables.
