LIFEgroups
For the 2012 LIFEgroup Calendar CLICK HERE.
LIFEgroups are an important aspect of our church ministry. We want everyone to be involved in a LIFEgroup, because the larger a church becomes the smaller it has to be! LIFE is manifested in the small group setting through
L – Learning as we study the scriptures together,
I – Intercession as we pray for one another bearing one another’s burdens,
F – Fellowship as we participate together in the body life of Christ, and
E – Encouragement as we lift one another up in our times of trial and testing.
As “LIFE” is lived out in the small group setting, people will know and be known, love and be loved, admonish and be admonished, serve and be served, care and be cared for. In other words, spiritual LIFE, which only Christ can give, will manifested itself through a fallen group of people gathered in His name for the purpose of living out “HIS LIFE” .
LIFEgroups are intergenerational groups of individuals and couples that meet twice a month to study God’s Word, pray, and fellowship. They are led by trained leaders who care for the group, most of which average 10 to 15 members. The church schedule identifies the week that is reserved for these groups to meet, but each group is free to set their own schedule. Our groups have studies on such topics as the Book of Acts, Old Testament Community, Old Testament Characters, and Spiritual Disciplines to name a few. Topics are continually changing.
There are other kinds of small groups at Cedar Crest. Some are support groups; others are men’s only, women’s only, college aged, or content driven groups. If you might be interested in a specific small group that meets your special need, contact the church office to get plugged in!

Casting For: Children’s Musical TeamThe Net - A Kids Musical about Teaching Evangelism! The story centers around a church that has just completed a renovation project on the kid’s area complete with a video arcade. The most exciting addition is a new Bible arcade game that also is the namesake for the space, “The Net.” As kids explore their new space they find that this new game is unlike anything they’ve ever seen or played before. Lessons in learning more about Jesus and sharing Him with the world come out of the video game (literally!) The kids interact with several biblical characters as they play the game. All kids are welcome from kindergarten-high school. Practices will be Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00pm in the Sanctuary starting January 4th, 2012. Please come and check us out (parents included) on January 4th. The show will run April 28-29, 2012. If you have any questions please contact Jennifer Gross. |

Focus
Teaching: We learn directly from God’s Word, the Bible. The teachers come directly from the body of LBS. The Scriptures are the main focus being taught through drama, lecture, debate, and discussion.
Prayer
LBS strongly emphasizes prayer. We have a weekly prayer sheet , confidential for ladies eyes only. This sheet helps us pray directly for each woman’s needs. There is also a prayer team that prays for emergencies and confidential requests. This team consists of board members.
Table Groups
We strongly believe in the importance of each lady who attends LBS. We have developed small groups to build friendships, trust, and address any needs the ladies may have throughout the year.
Prayer and Share
At the end of each semester we have a delicious brunch. Here the ladies share testimonies, praises, prayer requests, and lots of yummy food.
Organization
God has blessed our group with a wonderful team of leaders. They meet to pray, address problems, organize teachers, and prepare for a great year of Bible study. The board consists of talented, dedicated, God fearing women focused on the growth and well being of LBS.

Global Missions
Christ’s Great Commission to the church compels us to Go into All the World to make disciples.
One of the great blessings God has given to Cedar Crest over the past decades is the opportunity to be involved in sending missionaries throughout the world and partnering with them in some very exciting strategic outreaches to a number of unreached people groups.
Meet Our Missionaries

God is blessing our attempts to raise up several teams of new missionaries to go to the unreached in East Africa.
Going As A Missionary
Have you ever seriously considered career missions? How about joining a training oriented team for 2-3 years to get your feet wet? Do you have some other creative ideas for missions or are you just curious what life as a missionary would be like? Or maybe you are a parent whose child has begun to talk about being a missionary but you are unsure what that means or how to help them take the next steps.
We have a Personnel Development team that is here to answer your questions and help you trough he process from first thoughts through the application process and on through fund-raising until you reach your field of service.
There are several types of missionary assignment. You can go short term, as part of a several week team, on your own as part of a vacation or even under a mission board as a short-term volunteer.
You can also be sent from the church as a long-term or career missionary. The information below describes the process for this kind of missionary service. All applicants are overseen by the Outreach D-Team. They are also overseen by our Missions Pastor, Glenn Felty.
Short Term Missions
Every year Cedar Crest sends out a number of short term teams, as well as encouraging its members to participate with other short term projects. We typically send a variety of teams each year - some to do work projects with a mix of highly skilled and minimally to unskilled laborers, some to do vacation Bible school and other children’s ministries, some to do mercy ministries, and some to aid in other forms of outreach. There are trips open to anyone from teens through senior citizens, so click the link below to find out all about this years trips and come join us!
We place a high priority on getting our members actively involved in short-term missions, summer missions trips, and other mission projects. We consider it important that each candidate receive training relative to the type of ministry in which he will be involved. We will help applicants learn of short-term opportunities. We will develop a program in the church for selecting candidates and matching them with appropriate ministries. We will encourage all career and term missionary candidates to first experience a short-term ministry.
For forms and applications CLICK HERE.
Supporting Missions
Missionaries are never called to go it on their own. For every missionary out on the field there is a team of dozens, even hundreds, of people behind the scenes. Some are praying for them daily, others are writing and sending cards and packages to encourage them, others are supporting them financially on a regular basis, some may even visit them on the field to encourage them and/or minister alongside them. To help you support missions we have constructed a Hall of Missions outside the main worship center with information and current prayer letters from every missionary the church supports. We also offer a faith promise giving program, denominational prayer calendars and emails, a missions directory of addresses and birthdays, and much more.

Children’s Protection Policies
We at Cedar Crest BFC are very concerned for your child’s safety and well being, as well as your peace of mind. To that end we have enacted a number of policies designed to protect all the children and families on our property.
Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Guidelines
Child sexual abuse is a subject not many want to talk about, dwell on, or believe can happen to them or their church. Child sexual abuse, however, does occur and is happening in ever increasing numbers in homes and churches across the United States. There are some statistics that show that as many as one in every four girls and one in every six boys will be sexually abused before they reach the age of eighteen.
Because of the seriousness of this subject, Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church (CCBFC) desires to make its places of ministry safe for all children, youth and church workers. By being proactive and taking precautionary measures that screen and train workers with children and youth, and providing guidelines and procedures that offer assistance to parents and church workers, CCBFC can hopefully prevent such atrocities from ever occurring in our church community.
We encourage everyone in the church to be informed about child sexual abuse. Therefore, everyone who participates in the membership class will receive an overview of these guidelines. If these participants feel they could volunteer in the future to work with children or youth at Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, they will be given the opportunity to fill out a Children/Youth Worker Application Form as a way of making members and attendees of CCBFC safely available for service to our children and youth on an occasional basis (e.g. helping in a Sunday School Class as an Aide). Anyone who is going to be a worker with our children or youth over an extended period of time will be required to fill out a Children/Youth Worker Application Form, consent to a background check and references being contacted, as well as participate in a training session about our child sexual abuse prevention guidelines.

Nursery
The nursery is an important ministry of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church. It is staffed during the regular scheduled services of the church and is divided into three divisions as follows:
Baby Nursery (Room 105)
For children from birth until the child is able to walk well enough to be promoted to the Young Toddler Nursery. We hope you will like our “Creation” nursery.
Young Toddler Nursery (Room 106)
For children around the age of 1 year, until they are promoted to the Toddler Nursery on the first Sunday of March or September after their second birthday. Come visit our “Ark”!
Toddler Nursery (Room 107)
Children remain in this nursery until their fourth birthday, when they will be promoted to Children’s Church.
Mother’s Room (Access from Worship Center Hallway)
A quiet place for new mothers to be alone to feed and care for their newborn.
Guidelines
In order to provide a safe a loving environment for our children all volunteers 18 years and older are required to complete a Police check, Child abuse clearance & training DVD.
Our ID card system assures a safe child pick-up procedure. Upon check-in, a name tag will be attached to your child’s back. A tag with a matching number will be given to the parent. When picking up your child, simply return the parent tag to the nursery worker. They will match the parent tag number to the child tag number. (Families already registered have a family tag to show upon child pick-up).
A pager system is available for those who feel more comfortable knowing you can be alerted quickly if you are needed. Please make sure all your child’s belongings are marked with their name. This includes bottles, cups, pacifiers, diaper bags, etc. Please do not bring your child to the nursery if they are sick.
Anyone interested in volunteering to help in the nursery, should contact Maria Reinhard or Amy Newman through the Church Office.

Local Outreach
Light In the Park
Our vision for local outreach is to present the message of eternal life through faith in Christ and to serve the needs of our community in ever increasing ways. We want our people to see their world, their workplace and their neighborhood as places in which to demonstrate God’s love and present God’s message of day by day grace and everlasting hope. We envision a steady stream of people who have recently trusted in Christ as Savior to be welcomed and woven into the life and ministry of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church. In the same way that Jesus sent his twelve disciples into the world to proclaim the only message that brings forgiveness of sin and a new life, so we see ourselves as servants to our world equipped with God’s power to serve their needs.

Supporting Missions
There are many ways to support missions. Four major ones are to pray for missionaries, correspond with and/or host missionaries, give financially to missions, and get involved on either a sending or going team yourself.
Praying For Missionaries
We offer a number of resources to help you pray for missionaries. Just outside the main worship center is our Hall of Missions, here you will find some basic information on every missionary we support along with copies of their current prayer letters that you can take home with you. In each weeks Sunday Bulletin there is a Missionary of the Week for prayer, as well as a list of any new prayer letters you can pick up in the Hall of Missions. Every month we distribute the BFC Board of Missions Prayer Calendar (you can also have these prayer requests emailed to you daily, just contact the Board of Missions on their website. Finally, there are regular prayer meetings at the church - every Wednesday night for a variety of issues including missions, once a month for the Africa project, and occasionally for the Persecuted Church. Check the current Sunday Bulletin for announcements.
Corresponding With/Hosting Missionaries
If you would like to correspond with our missionaries look on the Literature Table outside the main sanctuary for our current missionary directory, or call the church office for a copy. It lists names, addresses, birthdays, Children and other useful information for correspondence. NOTE: some missionaries serve in places where you need to be sensitive in terms of what you say in letters and emails, and some live in places where we do not give out their field addresses. If you are unsure about proper protocol or are looking to reach someone not listed in the directory please contact our pastor for missions below.
From time to time we also have missionaries in the country that are in need of people hosting them for anywhere from a meal, to a night or two’s lodging, to a place for their family to live for a number of months. If you would have an interest in hosting missionaries please also contact our missions pastor below.
Giving Financially To Missions
If you would like to help out a supported missionary of the church or a short term team sponsored by the church you can make checks out to Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church and attach a note stating clearly what person or project you wish those funds to go towards. As always, all gifts are tax-deductible and will be receipted quarterly as such. All funds given to the church will be used to the best of our ability for the projects you desire, but with the understanding the church has the full legal right to use all funds as it sees fit.
One particular way to participate in missions is through our annual Faith Commitment For Missions Program. By making a Faith Commitment rather than simply giving to missions allows us to plan in advance what projects we can reasonably take on for the year to come.
Joining A Sending Or Going Team
Several times a year we send out short term missions teams, as well as partnering with the BFC-BOM and other agencies to provide opportunities for you to serve overseas anywhere from a few days through a life-long career. We also have several teams that oversee missions, caring for our missionaries, helping promote missions, mentoring new missionaries and pioneering new projects.
